The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) was founded in the year 1980 and chattered with the core mandate to regulate the practice of safety in Nigeria, following the signing into law and official Gazette of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) Act 2014 (Act No 2). ISPON maintains the register of safety professionals in Nigeria, and also determines the standards for the practice of safety in the country.
