This course provides a comprehensive introduction to calculations in Power BI with a strong focus on DAX,
data modelling and the principles that enable scalable, maintainable and high‑performance analytical solutions.

Participants will work hands‑on with star schema modelling, evaluation context, calculation logic, and advanced time‑intelligence patterns.

The training is designed for analysts, report developers and data professionals seeking to elevate their Power BI capabilities and build enterprise‑ready solutions.

Key Learning Outcomes:

Understand the fundamentals of DAX, including aggregation, iterator and logical functions.
Build and optimize semantic models using star schema principles.
Distinguish between measures, calculated columns and calculated tables.
Master row context, filter context and context transition.
Apply CALCULATE for advanced filter manipulation.
Use time‑intelligence functions such as YTD, QTD, MTD, SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR and DATEADD.
Create robust calculations using variables for readability and performance.
Work with calculation groups, field parameters and dynamic formatting.
Implement best practices for data transformation following Roche’s Maxim.
Build practical analytical solutions through hands‑on exercises with real‑world scenarios.
